SUMMARY
The International Schools Group (ISG) is a non-profit, future-focused school district in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. Our five schools, located on four sites, are co-educational day schools delivering Kindergarten 1 to Grade 12 in the American program and Foundation Stage 1 through Year 13 in the British programme to expatriate students as well as some students from the host country. Students enroll in either an American or British curriculum education which encompasses the following school-specific higher-level programs: Advanced Placement (AP) Capstone Diploma, International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), (I)GCSE and A levels.
History
Founded in 1962, ISG was originally established to serve the needs of expatriate families working for the U.S. Consulate in Dhahran.
From its initial enrollment of six students to its present status as a district of five schools with approximately 3,400 students, ISG has earned a reputation for providing the highest quality American and British curriculum education. Today, over 70 nationalities make up the ISG community.
Governance
The district is governed by a Board of Trustees, supported by school councils and a partnership with the U.S. Consulate, and is licensed by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Education.
Accreditation and Membership
All schools are accredited by the Middle States Association. British School Dhahran and Sara Village School are accredited by British Schools Overseas (BSO). American School Dhahran and ISG Jubail are authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO).
All ISG schools are members of the Council of International Schools (CIS). British School Dhahran and Sara Village School are members of British Schools in the Middle East (BSME), Council of British International Schools (COBIS) and the Association of British Schools Overseas (AoBSO).

VACANCY FOR 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR
ISG Superintendent, Rhonda Norris, seeks a Marketing & Communications Manager to lead and collaborate with various stakeholders, internal and external, to increase the outreach and impact of ISG’s profile as well as awareness and visibility through the delivery of high-value and effective marketing, communications and public relations in the Eastern Province, the Middle East, and internationally.
Key functions and responsibilities for this position and the related departmental team include:
- Strategy and Team Leadership for Communications and Marketing: Developing and implementing integrated marketing and communications plans, covering digital marketing, social media and traditional public relations
- Brand and Identity Management: Driving internal and external brand consistency, engagement, and reputation across all channels to ensure a strong market position and to boost brand visibility, reputation, and growth
- Media, Public Relations and Alumni & Community Engagement: Building relationships internally as well as within the community and with stakeholders, writing, and managing public image and managing media relations and ongoing communications.
- Messaging and Communications: Developing and managing internal and external messaging to ensure alignment with guiding principles and developing, advising on, and executing crisis communication plans to mitigate reputational risk and support effective and efficient crisis response.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborating with leadership, internal stakeholders, and external community members and partners to ensure consistent messaging and awareness.
- Leadership and Budgeting: Leading and mentoring a team, setting measurable goals, managing budgets, and analyzing success on strategies alongside senior leadership.
POSITION DUTIES
The successful candidate will be expected to:

Strategy
- Develop, implement and periodically review central marketing and communications strategies and annual plans.Support the Superintendent and leadership with internal and external communication direction, positioning and messaging.
- Conduct market analysis, benchmarking and competitor research to identify trends, opportunities and strategic priorities.
- Develop and track measurable goals and objectives, dashboards and reporting mechanisms to evaluate impact from strategies and brand performance.
- Ensure compliance with policies, regulatory requirements and regional cultural expectations.
Branding and Identity Management
- Safeguard and enhance ISG’s brand identity and reputation across all platforms.
- Maintain and enforce brand guidelines, providing tools, resources and training to schools and departments.
- Ensure consistent use of logos, typography, color palettes and messaging across print, digital and physical applications.
- Oversee production of branded materials, merchandise and promotional assets.
- Solicit feedback and consumer insights to refine brand strategy and strengthen community perception.
Media, Public Relations and Alumni & Community Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with local and regional media outlets, preparing press materials, media kits and responses.
- Support the Superintendent with interviews, statements and stakeholder communication.
- Promote student, staff and institutional achievements through PR channels.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations, businesses and alumni networks to strengthen ISG’s engagement strategy.
- Lead alumni association communications, newsletters and events.
- Plan, direct and produce promotional videos, storytelling pieces and multimedia campaigns.
- Coordinate photography, filming and editing across the campuses.
- Establish standards for composition, framing and visual representation.
Messaging and Communications
- Direct development of high-quality written, visual and multimedia content that communicates ISG’s value proposition and achievements.
- Draft, edit and approve communication pieces, publications, newsletters, speeches, letters and formal statements.
- Maintain professional standards for style, tone, accuracy, grammar, and clarity.
- Support central office departments with specialized publications and communication needs.
- Develop and implement digital marketing and social media strategies to enhance reach, engagement and brand visibility.
- Oversee content planning, scheduling and analytics for ISG social media channels.
- Determine digital priorities in collaboration with leadership and schools.
- Oversee and support the accuracy, performance and content of central office and schools web pages and parent-facing platforms.
- Monitor digital trends and emerging technologies to enhance communication effectiveness.
Stakeholder Engagement (Strategic & Protocol)
- Support communication and branding needs for key central office events including Board of Trustees activities, graduation ceremonies, orientations and open houses.
- Oversee production of programs, invitations, presentations, signage and collateral for high-profile events.
- Manage external agencies, suppliers and production partners to deliver quality outputs within budget and timelines.
- Coordinate procurement activities related to branded materials, merchandise and communication tools.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Team Leadership for Marketing & Communications
- Lead, coach, and manage the MarComm team and campus media specialists to ensure high performance, creativity, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with schools and central departments (Admissions, HR, Teaching & Learning, Finance, and others) to ensure alignment on campaigns and messaging.
- Provide expert guidance on communication protocols, copywriting, branding and marketing processes.
- Support the development of communication capacity and awareness across the organization.
Perform other duties assigned by the Superintendent.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of a Master's degree in a related field of study.
Knowledge
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proficiency in graphic design principles.
- Knowledge of social media platforms.
- Understanding of Adobe tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design).
- Understanding of Canva.
Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 5 years previous experience in communications, marketing, and/or customer service.
- A minimum of 5 years experience in public relations, vendor relations, communications, media and brand management.
- Previous experience providing art direction to graphic designers and audio/video technicians.
- Experience with Google suite applications (Google doc, forms, slides) and MS Office/Excel.
Skills
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- English language proficiency; this includes reading, writing, speaking and comprehension (Arabic language preferred).
