Summary
ISG Jubail seeks a dynamic and inspiring IB Geography and Social Studies teacher with a passion for engaging students in the exploration of human and physical environments, global issues, and the interconnectedness of societies. The ideal candidate will be able to lead students in developing the skills to analyse, discuss, and evaluate geographic, historical, and social phenomena at local, national, and international levels.
This teacher will demonstrate a commitment to a well-rounded and flexible program that promotes interdisciplinary connections, literacy, inquiry-based learning, and authentic, real-world experiences. Instruction will be guided by the IB Diploma Programme framework and middle school Social Studies standards, encouraging students to become critical thinkers, effective communicators, and compassionate global citizens.
The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting students in the middle and high school years, understanding their unique developmental needs and aspirations, and will contribute actively to the broader ISG Jubail community beyond the classroom. Position Duties

Specifically with regards to Social Studies, the successful candidate will be able to effectively:
- Deliver IB Geography instruction according to the IBDP course guide and principles of best practices.
- Scaffold student' construction of their own understanding of scientific concepts.
- Create an environment where students passionately exercise agency in pursuing science.
- Develop and foster interdisciplinary connections to the learning of science.
- Be a champion for school students, school learning, and the school program.
- Contribute to the creation and revision of the Social Studies curriculum.
- Share interests and passions with students through the after-school program.
Qualifications and Knowledge
The candidate must have:
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in a related field of study.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Deep pedagogical content knowledge in IB Geography and Social Studies.
- Current certification/licensure to teach Social Studies.
- An advanced degree in a related field of study.
- Knowledge of the C3 (College, Career, and Civic Life) Standards.
- Knowledge of Understanding by Design (UbD) principles.
Experience and Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience
- Previous IB Geography teaching experience, or at an equivalent level.
- Teaching Social Studies at the middle- and high- school level in an international context.
- Leading and inspiring both middle- and high-school students to be informed and inspired community members and leaders.
- Leading and inspiring students to be informed and inspired community members and leaders.
- Organizing student projects and performance tasks.
- Designing interdisciplinary units of inquiry.
- Documenting curriculum according to Understanding by Design (UbD) principles.
- Designing programs based on the C3 Standards.
