Summary

We are looking for a high-level math teacher who is comfortable teaching math content from Algebra to Calculus. The position carries responsibility for teaching math to high school students. 

Position Duties

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Demonstrate commitment to the safety and security of children and young people (child protection).
• Plan and deliver lessons in accordance with the goals and objectives of a clearly defined and documented curriculum.
• Deliver an active, hands-on, and student-centered programme to promote learning in mathematics courses for high school students, including Advanced Placement (AP) math courses.
• Maintain students' attendance records, grades, and other required records.
• Evaluate and grade students' class work and assignments.
• Compile, administer, and grade examinations.
• Assist students who need extra help with their coursework outside of class.
• Observe, monitor, and record student progress.
• Respond appropriately to the range of individual needs and abilities within the class.
• Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
• Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction.
• Keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.
• Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues.
• Support district and school initiatives with professionalism.
• Demonstrate creativity.
• Serve on academic or administrative committees that deal with institutional policies, departmental matters, and academic issues.
• Maintain a safe learning environment for students and staff at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal and/or the Assistant Principal.

Qualifications and Knowledge

The ideal candidate will have:

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred).
• Certification as a teacher.

Experience and Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

Experience

• Experience as a high school math teacher, including AP courses.

Skills

• Sound knowledge of high school mathematics, including AP math courses.
• Excellent command of English, both written and oral.
• Highly developed classroom management skills.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Maturity to handle a range of situations.
• Sound knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
• Loyalty and a high level of confidentiality.
