Summary

We are looking for a dynamic and innovative Substitute Teacher, who will be a key member of our diverse, and compassionate teaching team and will be responsible for delivering engaging and holistic learning experiences for our SV students. The substitute teacher will be responsible for developing a stimulating learning environment with continuous provision both inside the classroom and out.

Position Duties

The successful candidate will be able to effectively:

• Demonstrate a commitment to the safety and security of children and young people (child protection).
• Deliver lessons to students as outlined in lesson plans developed by regular teachers.
• Motivate students to learn and participate in the classroom during lessons.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Attend staff meetings if required.
• Supervise students outside classrooms if required.
• Coordinate with the SVC substitute teacher coordinator for SVC classroom expectations.
• Coordinate with the SVC substitute teacher coordinator for the SVC emergency protocol.
• Maintain a safe learning environment for students and staff at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal and/or the Assistant Principals.

Qualifications and Knowledge

The ideal candidate will have:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree;

• Experience as a substitute teacher.
• Certification as a teacher (preferred).

Skills

• Excellent command of English, both written and oral.
• Highly developed classroom management skills.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Maturity to handle a range of situations.
• Sound knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
• Loyalty and a high level of confidentiality.
