Summary
We are looking for a qualified and passionate elementary teacher, who will be part of our excellent educational program. The position carries responsibility for delivering an American-based curriculum to elementary students.
Position Duties
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Demonstrate commitment to the safety and security of children and young people (child protection).
- Plan and deliver lessons in accordance with the goals and objectives of a clearly defined and documented curriculum.
- Deliver an active, hands-on, and student-centered program to promote learning to elementary students.
- Maintain student's attendance records, grades, and other required records.
- Evaluate and grade student's class works and assignment.
- Compile, administer, and grade examinations.
- Observe, monitor, and record student progress.
- Respond appropriately to the range of individual needs and abilities within the class.
- Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
- Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction.
- Keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.
- Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues.
- Support district and school initiatives with professionalism.
- Demonstrate creativity.
- Serve on academic or administrative committees that deal with institutional policies, departmental matters, and academic issues.
- Provide supervision to students “after school activity” or coach/assistant coach the athletic team.
- Maintain a safe learning environment for students and staff at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Principal or Principal.
Qualifications and Knowledge
The ideal candidate will have:
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in the subject area of employment (Master’s degree preferred).
- Current elementary school teacher certification.
- Current certification as an ELL (English Language Learner) teacher (preferred).
Knowledge
- Sound knowledge and expertise in differentiating curriculum, utilizing assistive technology, and performing data-driven progress monitoring.
Experience and Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience
- Prior experience as an elementary school teacher in an international school context.
- Experience with G Suite and/or Microsoft Office.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to demonstrate a track record of continued professional development.
- Good interpersonal skills in interacting with students, parents and colleagues.
- Ability to supervise students in non-classroom settings.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Ability to lead an after-school activity.
