Summary

We are looking for a middle school math teacher to join a dynamic, highly successful ASD middle school team. The position involves teaching math to middle school students.

Position Duties

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Demonstrate commitment to the safety and security of children and young people (child protection).
• Plan and deliver lessons in accordance with the goals and objectives of a clearly defined and documented curriculum.
• Deliver an active, hands-on, and student-centered program to promote learning in mathematics courses for middle school students.
• Maintain students' attendance records, grades, and other required records.
• Evaluate and grade students' class work and assignments.
• Compile, administer, and grade examinations.
• Assist students who need extra help with their coursework outside of class.
• Observe, monitor, and record student progress.
• Respond appropriately to the range of individual needs and abilities within the class.
• Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
• Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction.
• Keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.
• Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues.
• Support district and school initiatives with professionalism.
• Demonstrate creativity.
• Serve on academic or administrative committees that deal with institutional policies, departmental matters, and academic issues.
• Encouraged involvement in student “after-school activity” or coach/assistant coach athletic teams.
• Maintain a safe learning environment for students and staff at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal and/or the Assistant Principal.

Qualifications and Knowledge

The ideal candidate will have:

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with a major / minor in mathematics (Master's preferred).
• Certification as a teacher.

Knowledge

• Sound knowledge of middle school mathematics.
• Sound knowledge of Google Workspace or Microsoft Office.

Experience and Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience as a middle school math teacher in an international school.

• Excellent command of English, both written and oral.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly developed classroom management skills.
