Summary
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Mathematics Teacher for the Senior School, who will be a key member of the team and will be responsible for delivering Maths to KS3/4/5.
Position Duties
The successful candidate will be able to effectively:
- Demonstrate a commitment to the safety and security of children and young people (child protection).
- Plan and deliver lessons in accordance with the goals and objectives of a clearly defined and documented curriculum.
- Demonstrate creativity and innovation.
- Deliver an active, hands-on and student-centred programme to promote learning.
- Maintain a safe learning environment for pupils at all times.
- Observe, monitor and record student progress.
- Respond appropriately to the range of individual needs and abilities within the class.
- Be fluent in English, oral and written.
- Take the guidance role of a form tutor and promote student wellbeing and academic care.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Headteacher and Head of Department.
QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in the subject area of employment (master’s degree preferred)
- Current teacher certification in the required subject area from a recognized institution.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience:
- Previous experience of teaching KS3, IGCSE and A level mathematics within an accredited school system (preferred).
- Experience with G Suite.
Skills:
- Ability to demonstrate a track record of continued professional development.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Good interpersonal skills in interacting with students, parents and colleague.
- Ability to supervise students in non-classroom settings.
- Ability to work independently and to collaborate within a team.
- Ability to lead an after-school activity.
